Junior Drake and the Butterfly foundation have brought us the “It’s not the bag it’s the Girl” campaign.

My best friend hosted all three events that were held in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

The events promoted healthy body image and were inspiring for women of all shapes and sizes!

I even had my photo taken!

IT’S WHAT’S ON THE INSIDE THAT COUNTS

The Butterfly Foundation was founded in August 2002 by Claire Vickery who found many ‘gaps’ in the public health system for those suffering from eating disorders. The Foundation is a community based charitable organisation that supports eating disorder sufferers and their carers through direct financial relief, advocacy, awareness campaigns, health promotion and early intervention work, professional training in primary and secondary schools to educate young people on how to build positive self esteem through its “Body Think’’ program.

Pasty Brown (whose stage name was Junior Drake) once received a compliment for an outfit she was wearing and responded by saying “Darling, it’s not the dress, it’s the girl!’’. She was credited for promoting that it’s what’s on the inside that counts. And that is exactly what The Butterfly Foundation does through helping Australian women develop a positive body image and to support those who suffer from poor self esteem and eating disorders.

Junior Drake, which launched in Australia earlier this year, has joined forces with the Foundation and each season will donate a percentage of the profits from the sale of a “butterfly’’ bag. Funds from the partnership with Junior Drake would go towards the Foundation’s education programs, which help young people build a positive body image.

I love that Junior Drake has teamed up with the butterfly foundation. We can’t all look like supermodels but we can celebrate how beautiful we all are in our own special way!

Ksubi Fahion Show

On Friday I went to the Ksubi Fashion show. The show was held at the Royal Hall of Industries at Sydney’s Moore Park. After being away for a few years their show was pretty big compared to the other ones I attended. I wasn’t really impressed by the clothes…its funny about 5 years ago I lived in my Ksubi jeans…I loved them…but the fashion showcased was a bit of a disappointment but maybe the collection will grow on me….

Their new collection, titled One Via Zero is supposed to be their second chance at the lime light.

They had huge shoes to fill….closing Fashion Week is such a big responsibility…at least they didn’t send rats down the runway this time.

Hopefully Ksubi has been re born….now where are my old jeans…I wonder if they fit…?

I went to the Launch of the Cooper St  in Bondi Junction.

Bondi Junction was also having its Harper’s Bazaar Vip night which ment champagne, chocolate fountains, manicures, massages and special discounts.

Cooper St clothing was showing its new range and the owner Craig Cooper showed us around. The clothing is beautiful and I got two dresses for winter. We also got a goody bag and some cupcakes!

Fashions Winners

Rosehill Gardens is gearing up for its biggest day of racing this year as the 2010 Golden Slipper Festival gets underway with Myer Ladies’ Day at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, 20 March.

Sydney Turf Club’s partnership with Australia’s fashion giant, Myer paves the way for a glamorous day of racing where ladies take centre stage including Festival ambassador and current Miss Universe Australia, Rachael Finch.

Women’s heats of the Myer Fashions on the Field contest will be held in the Fashion Precinct behind the main grandstand, with registration from 11am to 12pm.

So get your dresses and hats ready girls!

This autumn, pink is definitely the ‘it’ colour for Ladies’ Day. The McGrath Foundation will be adding a pink touch to the racecourse by selling pink rose corsages that will raise money to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities across Australia as well as promoting breast cancer awareness among young women.

 Myer Ladies’ Day wouldn’t be complete without the opportunity to meet some of the 2010 CLEO Bachelor of the Year finalists. There are a lot of hoties in the lite bunch!

You heard right. UGG Australia and Jimmy Choo are set to collaborate on a limited edition collection, “to spawn five devil-shoes ‘based on the construction of Ugg’s sheepskin boots with design details that embody the spirit of the Jimmy Choo brand’”.

Why, you may ask. Well sources say that apparently, president and founder of Jimmy Choo, Tamara Mellon, has said that besides all her Choo’s, Ugg Australia is “the only other footware I have in my wardrobe”.

Not quite sure as to what the end result will look like, although it could possible be a heel in sheepskin, or a boot in metallics. But nonetheless, I’m sure the shoe will look fabulous, become a hit for about 2 weeks, sell for maximum bucks and then never see the light of day again.

So until the shoe is released, you can keep an eye on UGG Australia….until then, we wait.
