As per request, I’ve scoured the town for one of Sydney’s hottest stylists .. I sat down with Jeff and asked him the pertinent questions. Here he gives you guys his top fashion tips for Summer… gladiator heels optional!
* Name and position
Jeff Lack, Sydney based personal stylist and media commentator.
* What exactly does your job entail?
For 20 years, I’ve been fortunate to be living my dream of working in the fashion industry. My very first job was working in men’s retail, where I started as a shop assistant and then moved into various roles including visual merchandising and buying. I also designed long board surf wear for several years, as well as worked as a model from catwalk to catalogue.
* How does a guy like you get into styling?
From a young age I was always styling family and friends. I love the buzz of creating an outfit that is truly individual and working closely with clients to help them pinpoint their personal style and weed out their fashion crimes. Fashion is an expression of who you are and brings your personality to life.
Four years ago I started my own personal styling business “To Be Well Suited” and developed my signature “Fit Colour Style” assessment system designed to enhance best features based on individual personality and style. It’s very easy for people to get trapped in the same old shopping habits and waste time and money. It’s my job to correct these expensive buying behaviours and challenge them to think outside the square about their individual style.
* Any celebs that you’ve styled?
Not one to name names, but I have really enjoyed working with sporting celebrities and several WAGS over the years. Clients also include media personalities, global and national brands, CEO’s and professionals returning to the dating scene.
* Tell me about your website “tobewellsuited.com.au“
To Be Well Suited is an online hub for connecting clients with latest services and packages. You can also keep in touch with latest trend reports.
* Top Tips for Women coming up to Summer to look hot, not trashy!
1. Such a great opportunity to ditch black and wear some colour. Check out citrus and bright reef colours like coral and aqua.
2. Get a print bikini that fits you. Florals are massive [and suit everyone].
3. Opt for sandals, flat and heeled instead of rubber thong, as they can really ruin an outfit.
4. Dresses are HOT! Maxis are still around, 50’s A-lines are cute, peasant prints think 90’s and focus on your lines for correct fitting. Don’t compromise on fit just because it looks great in-store or on someone else.
5. Get yourself fresh look and colour for hair and make-up, change really can be as good as a holiday.
